Pursuing My Passion
I discovered my passion for storytelling when I helped start my middle school's first newspaper. Meeting new people and exploring their stories became a lifelong craving! By high school, I was writing stories for a new teen section of our local Gannett newspaper in central Pennsylvania and shooting, writing, and editing stories as an intern with the NBC affiliate in Hagerstown, MD. Journalism had me hooked!
I pursued my passion at the top-ranked University of Missouri School of Journalism where I developed my reporting and anchoring skills working at KOMU-TV (NBC). I headed back to the East Coast after graduation to join one of the highest rated NBC affiliates in the country as a morning show reporter. I was quickly promoted to weekend anchor and managed the weekend newsroom for more than 12 years before becoming co-anchor of the #1 rated NBC 29 News at Sunrise and News at Noon. In 2021, I returned to my reporting roots at the legacy powerhouse WRAL-TV (NBC) in Raleigh, NC. My work developing sources and breaking stories earned me recognition as the 2023 Reporter of the Year for the Carolinas.

Capital Emmys 2017
I'm an active and inquisitive explorer - both when the cameras are on AND off! I love traveling, especially to scenic and historical destinations around the world. It's even better if I can explore those new places by hiking to get there! Since moving to Virginia's wine country, I've immersed myself in learning about the process of viticulture. I've even helped a local vineyard bottle its wines several times a year (in addition to tasting the wines, of course!). I'm an avid indoor cyclist, recently spinning past my 500th ride at my favorite local studio. I have to sweat it out on the bike so I can enjoy my other passion - food! I'll admit I'm not the best chef, but I love exploring new cuisines and restaurants.
